S.W.’s Verdict
Pixar's proof of concept is still better than most of what followed. The premise is airtight — toys are alive, they have feelings, deal with it — and the execution never cheats. Woody's jealousy arc is more honest than most adult dramas. Buzz's identity crisis is genuinely unsettling if you think about it for more than three seconds. The animation has aged; the storytelling hasn't aged a day.
