S.W.’s Verdict
Two teenagers trying to buy alcohol before a party. That's the entire film. It works because Hill and Cera have the kind of chemistry where you believe they've been annoying each other since childhood. The McLovin subplot is comedy's answer to a side quest that becomes the main quest. The structure is loose, the jokes are relentless, and the emotional core — two friends terrified of growing apart — lands harder than it has any right to in a movie about fake IDs.
