S.W.’s Verdict
Philippe Petit walked a wire between the Twin Towers and nobody stopped him. The documentary treats the event like a heist film, and it works because the tension is real even though you know the outcome. Petit is either an artist or a lunatic, and the film doesn't bother deciding. The footage is limited, so the reconstruction carries weight. It earns its emotional payoff without sentimentalizing anything.
