Cuaron disguises a film about mortality and class as a sex comedy road trip and gets away with it because the comedy is real enough to earn the audience's trust before the narrator starts explaining what is actually happening in the background. Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna have genuine chemistry. The ending is a door closing.
