S.W.’s Verdict
Tarkovsky built a film that moves like weather — slowly, inevitably, and with no interest in whether you're ready for it. The Zone is one of cinema's great metaphysical spaces: a place where the rules are unclear but internally consistent, which is more than most films manage with their entire runtime. Structurally airtight. Emotionally demanding. Entertaining only if your definition of entertainment includes staring at puddles until they mean something. Most people will watch this once, feel changed, and never go back.
