S.W.’s Verdict
Spielberg shot the entire film from a child's eye level and that single decision makes everything work. Adults are filmed from the waist down like distant authority figures. The bicycle scene still lands because the setup earns it — forty minutes of a kid hiding an alien in his closet. Manipulative in the best possible way.
