S.W.’s Verdict
Scorsese directs a rise-and-fall crime epic like he's afraid you'll change the channel. The pacing is hostile to boredom. Liotta narrates his own descent with the casual tone of someone describing their commute. Pesci earned his Oscar in six minutes of screen time.
