S.W.’s Verdict
Keaton drives a train, loses a girl, chases a war, and does it all with a face that suggests mild inconvenience rather than mortal danger. The stunts are real. The comedy is physical in a way that no modern film can replicate because insurance companies now exist. The plot is tight for a silent film — two chases, one in each direction, and every gag escalates. A hundred years old and still funnier than most things released this week.
