Two hours of two men losing their minds on an island, shot in black and white and a box aspect ratio that makes everything feel like it's closing in. Dafoe commits so hard to the role that reality stops applying. Exhausting in a way that demands respect — but that exhaustion is exactly why you don't go back. The experience is gripping; the recovery period is longer.
