S.W.’s Verdict
A farmhouse lands on a witch and a teenager spends ninety minutes trying to get home. The transition from sepia to Technicolor remains one of the greatest visual reveals in film history. The songs have survived eight decades because they earned their place in the story rather than interrupting it. Continuity is loose by design — it's a dream, and dreams don't need logic. One of the rare films that improves with age because each rewatch adds a layer of nostalgia on top of an already nostalgic premise.
