Garland and Mendoza strip war filmmaking down to real-time tactical tension and let the audience suffocate alongside the platoon. The Ramadi house becomes claustrophobic in the best possible way. No hero arcs. No stirring speeches. Just the grinding pressure of being in a room where everything outside wants to kill you. The sound design alone justifies the ticket price. This is what war films should feel like — relentless, disorienting, and fundamentally unpleasant in a way that respects the subject.
