S.W.’s Verdict
A quiet film about a quiet man living a quiet life in a not-quiet era. Edgerton plays Robert Grainier with the stillness of someone who's learned that the world takes things whether you grip them or not. The Pacific Northwest is practically a character. The pacing demands patience that the film mostly earns. It won't seize you by the throat, but it will sit in the back of your mind longer than you expect.
