S.W.’s Verdict
The AI girlfriend twist gets revealed early enough that the film has to actually be about something, and it mostly pulls that off. Thatcher is magnetic as a robot discovering her own cage. Quaid plays the tech-bro boyfriend with just enough charm to make you understand why the programming worked. The third act gets messy and the logic buckles under its own ambition, but for a January release, this is uncommonly sharp. Think Ex Machina's younger, scrappier cousin.
