The CG alien works. The kid is charming. The sister is grounded. The question nobody answers is why this needed to exist when the original is right there, unchanged, streaming on the same platform. Disney's live-action remakes are the cinematic equivalent of reheating leftovers and presenting them as tonight's dinner. The meal is fine. You've had better.
