Alvarez understands what made the original terrifying — tight spaces, wet sounds, the feeling that the ship itself wants to digest you. The creature design delivers. The fan service callbacks feel like contractual obligations rather than artistic choices, and the third act borrows from better sequels without matching them. Your pulse will be elevated, though.
