S.W.’s Verdict
An adaptation of a book about domestic violence that spends more screen time on flower shop aesthetics and rooftop parties than on anything resembling the weight of its subject matter. Lively delivers the dialogue as written, which is the problem. The off-screen drama surrounding the production was more structurally coherent than the film itself.
