S.W.’s Verdict
The second half of a story that didn't need to be split in two. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande remain the best thing about this franchise, and when the film leans into their performances it soars. But the padding is visible — scenes stretch, new songs land flat, and the pacing stumbles where the stage show sprints. The darker tone suits the material. The runtime does not. A good film buried inside an overlong one, which is exactly the problem the split was supposed to solve.
